Data Recovery Terms — No Data Recovered, No Fee
These are the written terms for every data recovery job at Classic Network and Computers (CNC), O-41, West Patel Nagar, New Delhi 110008. They apply to walk-in, pickup and courier jobs for hard disks, SSDs, NVMe drives, pen drives, memory cards, RAID arrays and NAS devices.

The policy in one paragraph
CNC evaluates your drive free of charge, tells you in writing what can be recovered and what it will cost, and starts work only after you approve. When recovery is complete you receive a file list to check before you pay. If CNC cannot recover the files you need, you pay nothing. Recovered data is handed to you on a storage device of your choice and CNC's working copy is deleted after you confirm receipt.
How a data recovery job runs
- Receive. You bring the drive to O-41, West Patel Nagar (3 minutes from Shadipur Metro, Gate 4), book free pickup within 10 km of the store, or send it by courier. CNC issues a job receipt with the media serial number.
- Evaluate — free. CNC checks the media and identifies the fault: logical (deleted, formatted, corrupted, virus), electronic (PCB, firmware) or mechanical (head crash, motor, platter damage). Evaluation starts the same working day; the written quote follows within 1–2 working days for most media.
- Quote in writing. You receive the expected recoverable data, the price and the turnaround by WhatsApp or email. Nothing is charged if you decide not to proceed; the drive is returned as received.
- Recover. Logical recovery uses professional imaging and file-system reconstruction tools. Physical recovery (head, platter and motor work) uses donor parts; cNC works with specialist partners for cases that need head transplants. Work is done on a sector-by-sector image, never on the original media.
- Verify. CNC sends a file list — folder tree with file names and sizes — before payment. You confirm the files you need are present. Sample files can be opened at the store.
- Deliver and pay. Recovered data is copied to your own drive or to a new drive you buy (GST invoice). Payment by UPI, card, bank transfer or cash after you confirm the file list. A GST invoice is issued for every job.
- Close. CNC deletes its working copy of your data after you confirm receipt. The original media is returned to you.
No Data Recovered, No Fee — what it covers
- If the files you listed as needed cannot be recovered, there is no charge: no diagnosis fee, no lab fee, no "attempt" fee.
- If only part of the data is recoverable, CNC tells you before work starts and you decide whether to proceed at the quoted price or stop at no cost.
- The only charges that can arise on an unsuccessful job are ones you choose: a new storage device you bought from CNC, or courier charges for sending the media back.
- "Recovered" means the file opens and is readable. Files that are present but corrupt beyond use are not counted as recovered.
Prices and payment
- Logical recovery (deleted or formatted files, corrupted partitions): from ₹2,000.
- Physical hard-disk recovery (clicking, dead, not detected): from ₹5,000.
- RAID, NAS and server storage: quoted after evaluation; see the data recovery page for the current price table.
- The written quote is the final price. It does not increase after you approve it unless you add media or change the job.
- Payment is due after you confirm the recovered file list. Business clients can pay by bank transfer against the GST invoice.
Turnaround
- Logical recovery (deleted or formatted files): 48–96 hours. Firmware or software corruption: 96–144 hours.
- Physical hard-disk recovery: 6–14 working days, depending on damage and parts availability (donor drives for head swaps may add time). SSD and NVMe: 6–10 working days.
- NAS: 8–16 working days. RAID arrays: 10–20 working days.
- Emergency service with a 24-hour target: available for critical cases at an additional charge quoted in advance.
- Working days are Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM.
Confidentiality and data handling
- Engineers open only the folders needed to confirm recovery. Content is not copied, shared or used for any other purpose.
- Recovered data stays on CNC's isolated lab systems, not on internet-connected machines, until handover.
- CNC's working copy is deleted after you confirm receipt of the recovered data. If you do not collect within 30 days of being informed, the copy is deleted and the job closes.
- A non-disclosure agreement is signed on request for business, legal, medical and government clients.
- CNC complies with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 for personal data handled during recovery.
Your original media
- The original drive is returned to you with the recovered data, whether or not recovery succeeded.
- A drive opened for physical recovery is not reusable afterwards; CNC will tell you before opening it.
- Drives not collected within 90 days of the job closing are securely wiped and disposed of.
Risks and limits
- Some media is beyond recovery by any lab: severely scored platters, overwritten data, SSDs with failed controllers and active encryption, or drives wiped by secure-erase commands.
- Running recovery software, repeated power-ups, freezer tricks or opening the drive yourself lowers the chance of recovery. If a drive clicks, beeps or is not detected, switch it off and bring it in.
- Recovery from encrypted drives (BitLocker, FileVault, hardware encryption) needs your key or password.
- CNC does not recover data from mobile phones.
- Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 2019.
