Old laptops get sold, leased machines go back, servers are replaced and hard disks and backup tapes pile up in a cupboard. Each of them still carries files — accounts, customer records, staff data, emails. Deleting or formatting does not remove that data. CNC securely wipes the media so the data cannot be read again, gives you a certificate that lists every drive by serial number, and can also buy the old machines from you.
CNC securely wipes hard disks, SSDs, NVMe drives, pen drives, memory cards and backup tapes — on-site at your office in Delhi NCR, at its lab at O-41, West Patel Nagar, or by courier from anywhere in India. Once data is wiped by CNC, it will not be recovered by any means, and every job comes with a certificate of data wiping that carries a CNC reference number and lists each drive by serial number.
- Hard disks: software overwrite of every sector, then verification
- SSD / NVMe / M.2: firmware secure erase (cryptographic erase where supported)
- Media to be retired: degaussing for hard disks and backup tapes (they cannot be used again)
- Certificate: CNC reference number, each drive's serial number, method, date and engineer's signature
- Buyback: CNC buys old servers, workstations, desktops and laptops with their drives, wiped as part of the purchase
- Price: quoted per job — depends on drive count, media type, method and on-site, lab or courier; quote is free

Why deleting or formatting is not enough
When a file is deleted or a drive is formatted, only the index that points to the files is removed. The data stays on the drive until something else is written over it. CNC also runs a data recovery lab, and formatted or "deleted" drives are recovered there every week — with ordinary tools, often free ones. A factory reset or a fresh Windows install does not change this. Secure wiping is the step that makes the data unreadable.
How we wipe each type of media
The method depends on the media. Hard disks and tapes store data magnetically; SSDs, NVMe drives, pen drives and memory cards store it in flash chips. So one method does not suit every drive.
| Media | Method | Usable after? |
|---|---|---|
| Hard disk (HDD) — laptop, desktop, workstation, server, external | Software overwrite of every sector, then verification of the whole drive | Yes |
| SSD, NVMe, M.2 | Firmware secure erase, or cryptographic erase where the drive supports it — clears every cell, including spare cells | Yes |
| Dead or failed SSD | Firmware overwritten by external means, to reduce the possibility of recovering the encrypted data | No |
| Pen drives, memory cards | Wiped and listed on the certificate | Yes |
| Hard disks and backup tapes you will not use again | Degaussing — a strong magnetic field erases the media | No — the media stops working |
Degaussing does not work on SSDs, NVMe drives, pen drives or memory cards, because they do not store data magnetically. CNC does not shred or crush drives, and does not wipe mobile phones. After a software wipe or secure erase, a laptop or desktop works normally but has no operating system or files; we can install a fresh operating system if you plan to reuse or sell it.
Certificate of data wiping
Every job ends with a certificate of data wiping from CNC. It is the written record that the data on those drives was erased, and it is what auditors, leasing companies and buyers ask for. Each certificate shows:
- a CNC unique reference number for the job
- each drive by its serial number, so it can be matched to your asset list
- the method used on each drive
- the date of wiping
- the signature of the CNC engineer who did the work
Our assurance: once data is wiped by CNC, it will not be recovered by any means.
When organisations need secure data wiping
- Selling or donating old computers — before laptops, desktops and servers go to a buyer, a dealer, staff or a charity
- Returning leased or rented machines — most lease agreements ask for wiped drives
- Employee exit — before a laptop is handed to the next person
- Server and storage replacement — old server, NAS and backup drives and tapes before they leave the server room
- Disposal — media that will not be used again, wiped or degaussed before it is handed over
- Audit and data-protection records — a certificate with serial numbers for your DPDP and audit files
- Individuals — wiping a personal laptop, external drive or pen drive before selling it
Who we have done this for
CNC has wiped drives for banks, educational institutes, paramilitary forces, PSUs, government offices, and corporate and multinational clients — as well as small offices and individuals.
On-site, at our lab, or by courier

On-site work covers Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Manesar and Bahadurgarh. The lab is at O-41, West Patel Nagar, New Delhi 110008, 3 minutes from Shadipur Metro (Blue Line, Gate No. 4); open Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM. For courier jobs, call or WhatsApp first so the job is booked before you send the drives.
Sell your old IT equipment — with secure data wiping
CNC buys old servers, workstations, desktops and laptops, along with their hard drives and other storage media. All drives are securely wiped as part of the purchase, and you receive the certificate of data wiping.
- Complete units get a better buyback price — machines with their drives, memory and power adapters in place are worth more than machines with parts removed.
- One step instead of two — the data is erased and the machines are sold in the same job.
- How to start: send the list of machines (type, brand, model, quantity, and whether the drives are inside) on WhatsApp for a buyback quote.
How it works
1. Send the device list
Call +91-9810130131 or WhatsApp +91-8130992267 with the number of laptops, desktops, servers or loose drives, pen drives or tapes, the drive type if you know it, and whether you want the work on-site, at our lab or by courier. If you also want to sell the machines, say so.
2. Free written quote
We confirm the method for each media type and send a quote for the job — or a buyback quote if you are selling.
3. Wiping
Our engineer wipes each drive with the method agreed — overwrite and verification, SSD secure erase, or degaussing for media you are retiring.
4. Certificate
You receive the certificate of data wiping with a CNC reference number and every drive's serial number, and the machines or drives are handed back to you (or bought by CNC, if you are selling).
Need the opposite — files back from a drive?
If a drive failed or files were deleted by mistake, do not wipe it — see data recovery in Delhi. Evaluation is free and the no data recovered, no fee terms are published.
