Free IT Health Checklist for Delhi SMEs — 12-Point Office IT Audit
Most IT disasters in Delhi NCR offices don't happen without warning. They happen because a UPS battery died quietly months ago. Or because an antivirus licence expired and nobody noticed. Or because the data backup has been failing silently every night for weeks.
This free IT health checklist covers the 12 most critical IT checks that CNC's engineers run when they first visit a new client in Delhi NCR. It takes 30 minutes to complete for a small office. Most businesses find at least 3–4 items that haven't been checked in over a year.

Why Every Delhi Office Needs a Regular IT Health Check
Delhi NCR businesses face a specific set of IT risks that make regular health checks more important than many business owners realise:
- Power quality issues — Delhi's power supply frequently experiences spikes, sags, and outages. A UPS system with a degraded battery provides no real protection. HDD and server failures from power events are one of CNC's most common service calls across Delhi NCR.
- Heat and dust — Delhi's climate means computers accumulate dust faster than most cities. Blocked vents cause overheating, which shortens the life of CPUs, HDDs, and power supplies. Annual cleaning is essential.
- Ransomware and cyber threats — Delhi SMEs are increasingly targeted by ransomware. An expired antivirus or an unpatched Windows installation is an open door. Cyber security hygiene starts with the basics on this checklist.
- DPDP compliance — India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act requires businesses handling personal data to maintain reasonable security safeguards. This checklist covers the IT security basics that form the foundation of DPDP compliance.
- Staff turnover and access control — Delhi's SME sector has high staff turnover. Unchecked, former employees may retain access to company systems, email accounts, and CCTV.
The 12-Point IT Health Checklist — Full Details
Section 1 — Hardware: Laptops, Desktops & Workstations
Section 2 — UPS & Power Infrastructure
Section 3 — Network Security & Connectivity
Section 4 — Data Backup & Recovery
Section 5 — Cyber Security & Software
Bonus Check — CCTV & Physical Security
If your office has a CCTV system, add these three checks to your quarterly review:
- CCTV is recording and footage is accessible: Play back footage from exactly 24 hours ago. If you cannot, either the DVR/NVR is not recording, the HDD is full, or the HDD has failed.
- CCTV HDD space remaining: Log into your DVR or NVR admin panel and check the storage percentage used. CNC recommends a minimum of 30 days of footage retention — resize or replace the HDD if retention has dropped below this.
- Remote viewing working on your phone: Open the Hik-Connect or gCMOB app on your mobile and confirm live view is working. Remote viewing breaks more often than most people realise — firmware updates, IP changes, or router resets all cause it to stop working silently.

What to Do When You Find Problems
For items you cannot fix in-house, CNC provides on-site IT support across all Delhi NCR areas. Common fixes from this checklist that CNC handles regularly:
- UPS battery replacement — CNC sources APC, Luminous, and Su-Kam batteries and replaces them on-site. Most replacements completed same day.
- HDD/SSD upgrade or replacement — If SMART data shows a failing drive, CNC clones your data to a new drive before the old one fails.
- Data recovery — If a drive has already failed, CNC's data recovery service operates on a no data–no charge basis in Delhi NCR.
- Antivirus deployment — CNC procures and installs antivirus across all machines in your office under a single managed licence.
- Network security audit — CNC checks your router configuration, connected devices, and Wi-Fi security setup as part of a free site visit.
- CCTV DVR/NVR HDD replacement — Surveillance-grade HDD replacement for Hikvision, CP Plus, and Dahua systems across Delhi NCR.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should a Delhi SME do an IT health check?
Ideally once every quarter — four times a year. At minimum, do a full audit at the start of each financial year and before any major office move or expansion. Most CNC AMC clients in Delhi NCR get a health check included in their preventive maintenance visits.
What is the most common IT issue found in Delhi offices?
In our experience servicing 500+ Delhi NCR businesses, the three most common issues are: UPS batteries that have never been tested and are silently dead, antivirus software that expired months ago, and data backups that are scheduled but have been silently failing. All three are caught in the first 20 minutes of a CNC site visit.
Is this checklist suitable for a small office with just 5 computers?
Yes. The checklist is designed for Delhi SMEs with 5 to 100 devices. Every item applies from the smallest CA office to a mid-size manufacturing unit. For 5-device offices, the whole checklist takes under 30 minutes to complete.
What should I do if I find problems in this checklist?
For any item you cannot fix in-house, call CNC on +91-9810130131. We provide free site assessments across Delhi NCR and can diagnose and quote for any issue on the checklist — same day for most West Delhi locations.
Does CNC provide regular IT health checks as part of AMC?
Yes. CNC's IT Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) include preventive maintenance visits that cover every item on this checklist — plus deeper diagnostics that are not practical to do manually. Comprehensive AMC clients get monthly visits; Non-Comprehensive clients get quarterly visits.
